I’m Ruka — a wedding photographer, a storyteller, and a mama to five little ones who remind me daily how quickly time moves and how precious our memories truly are.
When I’m not documenting love stories, I’m usually chasing my kids around, soaking in the kind of everyday moments that quietly become traditions. At home, I’m married to my high school sweetheart of nearly ten years — a love story that grounds me and inspires the way I document yours.
Rooted in Colorado, I’m endlessly inspired by mountain light, open skies, and the way love feels against an unforgettable backdrop. Whether your wedding day unfolds among alpine peaks, in the heart of downtown Denver, or along a coastline miles away, I’m passionate about capturing stories with a sense of place — the kind of imagery that feels cinematic, emotional, and deeply personal.
My approach is built on connection, presence, and intentionality. I take time to truly know my couples so your photographs reflect who you are — not just how your day looked, but how it felt. I’m drawn to imagery that is clean, classic, and timeless, blending documentary honesty with refined editorial elegance.
On your wedding day, my goal is simple:
to create a calm space where you can be fully present while I quietly and artfully preserve everything that matters — the planned, the spontaneous, and all the in-between magic.

My approach is pretty simple! It's all about relationships, authenticity, and intentionality. My main goal is to make this process as laid-back and stress-free as possible. I want to be a breath of fresh air, your best friend you can text on a Tuesday night about napkin colors, your go-to Friday night drinks buddy, and a shoulder to lean on for your big day! My greatest wish is that our time together feels like so much more than just a work relationship. I am here to walk alongside you on this journey you are on!

Ruka is AMAZING!! She is so kind and easy to work with. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful during my wedding photos and even sent a sneak peak of the photos within 48 hours after my wedding! I gave her a Pinterest board of my inspiration photos and she absolutely crushed it with the lighting, poses, editing, etc. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos!!
